A round of applause please, for my unique and original title.
This is my post on the ever anticipated, Senior ball. Every girl waits and anticipates the first 18 years of her life for this very special night. We grew up watching our sisters getting ready and stalking the photos of upperclassmen as freshmen on Facebook. We have the right to hype up the evening.
I’m thankful to say, my prom, in almost all ways, lived up to the hype that comes with “prom” (aside from having food poisoning the morning of, from eating like a typical unhealthy teenager. yuck.). I woke up and styled my hair, then drove to the MAC counter to get my makeup done. The venue we took photographs at, The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California was divine. Sure, it was a million degrees, and my face was literally melting off, but it was a gorgeous day nonetheless. California didn’t fail to give us a friendly reminder of why everyone loves the weather here… when we arrived at school they kept us in our field house (gym-like building), and I kid you not – it was 103 degrees in there. Everyone looked sweaty and sticky (not a good look for prom) and they wouldn’t let us out!
Then came the bus ride to the beautiful San Francisco pier 2, where our dashing and exclusive boat awaited us! The ride was filled with giggles, singing, pictures, and terrible (yet hilarious) stories. On the bus ride, Ryan Khodi gave us a profound explanation of the history of why the clock tower on the Ferry Building faces the way it does. It had moved during an earthquake… ’twas a very moving story (no pun intended). That got us all laughing, till we reached the boat. We all ate like starving hyenas so that we could explore the boat. This was the last opportunity for decent pictures, since the wind blew our hair in shambles the second we walked out on the deck.
We played games on the first floor (poker, air hockey, 10 fingers, ping pong, etc) and joked around the rest of the time. The last hour and a half were the best; we danced the night away with the rest of our classmates. It was shockingly fun dancing, no nastiness (grinding/freaking). That never happens at high school dances, and I was grateful (since I refuse to get down and dirty).
There were so many points where we were so excited, we forgot to take pictures! So I hope I took a sufficient amount for you to take a look at. Also, thank you to everyone that let me steal their pictures! Enough rambling, now enjoy the pictures of this awesome night!
A special thank you to Katie Osumi, she actually saved my life (this is my dramatic teenage self chiming in). I couldn’t find this dress anywhere in my size, it was completely sold out. She had worn it to another prom a few weeks prior, I simply asked her wear she even found her size – and she graciously (without hestitation) said I should barrow it! I will forever be grateful to you and your generosity! Thank you for allowing me to feel like a princess at my prom! You are a doll. xo
I present to you, my date, the sweetest boy there is – Atharva! Seriously, I lucked out with having the funniest, silliest, and sweetest date. I wasn’t feeling well at all and he didn’t fail to make me feel better! Thank you for being the best prom date bud!
The three of us are team prom! That lovely lady in blue has been to like 100 proms! But really I think around 5. I did her hair and makeup for all, and Thomas always kept us company whilst getting ready!
And of course, some fun pictures from my beloved iphone4:
