Week #3 is upon us! This week I’m simplifying the what could be considered the messiest part of my bed room. I can not even count on my hands how many people have walked in, looked at this, and said, “Wow. How do you live in here? I can’t even look at this. I’m so overwhelmed.” Haha! I always laughed it off and thought nothing of it…but now having gone through this whole #simplify series, they are so right. How did I live in this room before? I can’t even look at the pictures with out feeling overwhelmed. And I’d like to point out how nerve wrecking it is to share these pictures with you. Sure, I’ve changed for the better, but showing what it used to be is scary! Please accept me, haha!
And I would just like to point out, this is the extremely clean version of my bookshelf’s. I cleaned it up just for the photos so that you wouldn’t judge me too harshl
Yes, I built this next piece of furniture all on my own. *pat on my shoulder*
And while cleaning this whole bookshelf out. I got to cleaning inside my closet so I could sort out what I wanted to put in the dressers. I threw away roughly 10 bags of just random papers from high school I had stacked in boxes.
I had to be really honest with myself and just stark chucking things. I’m sure you can relate to this, throwing away anything you’ve had for a while and that holds sentimental value is hard. But it takes up so much space, and if you never ever wear it…what’s the point then? Throw it away and free yourself from all the material junk you’ve kept for years.
Viola! I hope you like the finished product as much as I do. I actually love how it came out. Not only do I have more storage for my clothes, but I’ve limited the junk that sits on top of my dresser. (Dresser – Ikea, black jewelry tree – ikea, heart jewelry organizer – Marshal’s).
In the top drawer of my dresser I’ve used these organizer’s I got from ikea. They are so helpful is separating socks, undergarments, and anything else really.
I was quite excited that the cleaning was finally finished!
I made this heart jar in 8th grade ceramics and I absolutely love it. Glad I kept such good care of it, I hope it have it forever.
Family first. Here’s my immediate family and I at my sister’s wedding a few years back. (frame is from ikea).
And just for fun I’m gonna share with you my favorite pieces of jewelry:
